Ginger Blueberry Smoothie

This sweet and refreshing Ginger Blueberry Smoothie is a great way to kickstart your day and boost your immunity! It also makes for the perfect afternoon energy pick-me-up. If you have never added ginger into a smoothie, this is a great way to start. You can also throw in a handful of
spinach, or other leafy greens of your choice, for extra nutrients and colour! You may not need any maple syrup or honey, depending on your personal tastes and how sweet your fruit is. Choose ripe or overripe bananas for a delightful flavour.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 large ripe or overripe bananas
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 large handful baby spinach
  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger or 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 scoops protein powder (Nuzest Vanilla Protein Powder)
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • Optional: 1 Tbsp maple syrup (depends on how sweet your bananas are)

Method:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender, and fill to the top of the blender with water (approximately 750mls).
  2. Blend altogether until smooth and serve in tall glasses or mason jars. Makes 3-4 medium smoothies or 2 large smoothies, have one at morning and afternoon tea daily.
